[OT] Help - failed Iomega Home Network

Hi
Sorry for the OT but I am desperate. (Before you ask, yes I am an idiot but
I still need help!)
I have some important data on a 500Gb Iomega Home Network Media drive.
The drive starts to boot but at the last minute the device will not come
ready. Iomega support have rebooted, poked and prodded, but now say a new
unit is all they can do.
Does anyone know how I would go about recovering the data - it is a SATA
drive which I think runs some kind of Linux OS?
Failing any possible DIY options does anyone know of a reliable, tried and
tested company that can recover the data for me?
I know it is my own fault for not checking the backups, but I really need
some help - once you, the owners of perfect backups who have never lost
data
;-) , have stopped smirking!!!!
Many thanks
Jonny
