Another thing is you may need to change the SMTP port used.  My normal
service through either Virgin broadband or O2 Mobile is fine, but when I
use
3 mobile broadband I have to change the port number in my settings - this
particular one is documented on the 3 website, so there may be similar
changes required for the B&B ISP.

You don't mention which email provider you are using, but most ISPs that
provide email will not allow sending email when not directly connected
to their network (known as mail relaying). Receiving email is not
affected. Some ISPs block it outright and others will allow it, only
after being authenticated by using a valid username / password combination.

This is to prevent spammers using your mailbox to spam everyone else.
