It wont end in tears but why not used 2.5 for those as well. The
thicker the
cable the less resistance so more of the amplifier power will end up as
sound.

I'm thinking of running some garden speakers , from a Sonos zone, but
keeping the zone indoors. Just running the speaker cable outside.

Would anyone have anything against running 40metres of 1.0mm solid copper
cable as the speaker cable ?

I use 2.5mm T&E internally for Sonos and the cinema, but not anything
near
that distance, and with smaller cable. Just will this just end in tears ?
