RE: OT: Golf website - dodgy ??

Doesn't look good, the trustwave logo should be clickable and it's
just an
image.

I'd be calling the card company now if it was me.

If they are UK based (guessing by the UK pricing) then they have to provide
an address prior to purchase (most just display on the site anyway)

The whois record is not showing a registrant, most business domains will
show the real owner.

Subject: [ukha_d] OT: Golf website - dodgy ??

Totally OT but just looking for a second opinion ....

My dad just called to say he's bought a putter from www.swinghitsite.com
which hasn't been delivered. A quick look at the site raised my concerns -
no address, no phone number, no ownership details and a quick whois search
shows the registrant in Ohio, domain only registered in November and the
same registrant owns another 144 domains. Price for the putter was way
below
other online retailers.

All of which to me says fraud.

The online 'help' is in pidgeon english and gives vague promises about
delivery soon but won't provide a tracking number. I've told him to contact
his credit card company ASAP.

Am I being paranoid or does it look barge pole ??

Cheers
Kevin W.
