Plasma/LCD immune IR receiver for Russound?

I need to get a plasma/LCD immune IR receiver for one of my Russound
Uno S2 keypads.
Has anyone got experience of the SaphIR-858P receiver that plugs into the
S2 - or an alternative?
This particular keypad is right next to an LCD TV and gets blasted with IR
interference, rendering IR control useless on the whole IR network. I did
try a possible trick of using unexposed developed 35mm film over the IR
receiver but sadly that didn't work.
Any thoughts or ideas?
