RE: GSM Auto Controls Anything From Anywhere with your Phone

Hi All,

I have been thinking about this sort of application but the limiting factor
has always been the lack of interfacing capability. Most only have a few
digital or analog inputs with SMS sending on alarms or switching of outputs
via SMS etc.

I now run my own electronics design company and I am looking for potential
products and one of the ones I was working on is remote data logger but
this
is for industrial based designs.

After seeing this from Mark and others on the internet I was wondering if
you had any ideas what use a GSM based system would offer that would make
you want to buy it? I was thinking about the sort of situation where you
need to monitor or control a remote property, possibly a family member. In
some cases you could install a PC to control everything but that means
leaving a PC on all the time and relying on it remaining operational whilst
you are not there, something we are all aware of.

I would ideally like to keep it low cost but it could be controlled by SMS
or connect over GPRS to a PC software package you would have at a fixed
location.

I was thinking about having RS232 ports, Ethernet, digital and analog IO
all
built in.

If you have any ideas I would appreciate them! At this time is just a
thought but if I think there is potential, I can look to making this a
reality. Although I am based out here in Indonesia, I do have UK sales
outlets I can offer this through!

Cheers

Dave.

This little beauty from GSM Auto contains a mobile phone and two 30 amp
relays. Using the supplied T-Mobile SIM - (or a different SIM of your
choice), the unit will work world wide with its quad-band radio.

Applications include remotely controlling heating in your holiday home,
lighting, access control of gates and garage doors and a million and one
other things you can think of. The unit can operate in open mode giving
control to anyone that knows the number, or in secure mode where it will
only respond to calls from the caller ID of pre-programmed numbers (up to
99
can be stored).

Programming is carried out via SMS and the unit can also be controlled by
text message as well as sending texts back to confirm operations too. Watch
the video...
