I use comfort mainly for alarm, but have got to admit the uses for HA
are
excellent. On the alarm side I have a number of contacts and vibration
detectors also a smoke and heat detector zone. In the ten years I've had it
installed it has been very robust, especially given my previous tinkering
with cables and updates.....Only false alarms being when SWMBO decides to
go
outside after setting to night mode....

The doorstation has been a godsend when deliveries are being
made......either via mobile or immobile.

For garage power door and alarm activation/deactivation I use the MCR 308
from Visonic, also linked upto a few windows which were not easy to wire.
It
is only about a year old, but works very well and it has SWMBO approval,
especially when wet, as she now drives the car straight in and out of the
garage.

The X10 is programmed for a number of lights in the house, which gives
lived
in looked when away, or out. Also X10 controls blinds open shut.

Infrared control of tv, stereo and video allow tv to be used when away or
to
record programs, change channels etc... was also linked to ensure old video
recorded cctv, when zones activated in comfort.

Quick update...

I decided to take the plunge with Comfort; have bought the kit, and am part
way through installing it.
I have a mixture of wired PIRs and wireless door/window contacts.

Only played with the alarm functions so far, but am very impressed with
it's
capabilities and how configurable it is. Glad I went for it rather than a
standard alarm system.
Once the alarm side of it is finished, I hope to have a play with some X10
control of certain lights...and I'm sure that will lead on to more
things...

Cheers
Lee
