Music around the home is (was/will be again when we move to new place)
managed by squeezecentre DDAR's running some nice squeezebox firmware,
a boom and a controller. For my iPod I use perl scripts, it's a
magnificently flexible mechanism. Ok, it might not be drag and drop
but I bet it's a lot lot faster.
