I've had one installed for in an outside cabinet like yours for two
years (12 Jan 2007 I ordered it). It's always worked perfectly. Fitting was
dead easy, just clamped it round the cable and then put a small screw in
the side of the cabinet to hang the sender unit on. You could do it with
double-sided sticky pads if your worried about the cabinet.

Never had any comments from meter readers or the electricity company. And
that includes a guy turning up to change the meter about 18 months ago. I'd
guess they are getting more and more used to seeing these things.
