Yeah, I meant per hour. That's just basically fridge/freezer, home
server, alarm system, and a few other basic things running when the
house is empty. This would probably peak to maybe 0.8KwH per hour
during daylight at weekends (unless I put the dishwasher or washing
machine on).

The major peak in power usage is probably during the hours of darkness
where obviously PV won't help.

Covering daylight needs isn't really an problem instead I guess its
figuring out what the breakpoint is for how large a PV system to go
for so that the "profit" made from selling excess power knocks
out the
cost of mains power during darkness and the initial cost of the system.
