Re: cheapest multi-zone amp available?

I could only come up with a technical solution to this. I think what
your
angling for is a cheaper version of Sonos capability.
I don't have Sonos but I know folk here do. I have a question when a source
switches from one zone to another is the volume ramped down switched then
ramped up again automatically?
If we used the speaker switch mentioned earlier in this thread if the
volume
was loud and we switch the source this would possibly blow the speakers
with
a loud thump.

What I came up with (not in practice yet) was a Denon AVR 3805 - ebay!!.
This has 3 zone capability but you also have to ramp down the volume via
code sent to Serial control port!!. You therefore have to (on Zone 3):
1) Ramp down volume via serial port on Denon amp
2) Switch using IR control on the speaker switch
3) Ramp volume back up on Amp
Main zone would be for cinema room, zone 2 house announcements and zone 3
for piped music
