If it's a chipped Xbox, then if you are good enough at following
instructions to mod the Xbox, upgrading the hard drive should be no
problem (I managed it!). There are a few things to watch out for: if
you want a big F: drive rather than separate F: and G: drives, look
out for a version of the BIOS that supports it (maybe they all do now,
it was a few years ago I did mine). Also make sure you "unlock"
the
old drive before removing it, if you want to re-use it elsewhere.

The process is apparently more difficult for soft-modded boxes.
