Further to my last post - for those Linux people on the list I did try
to use the in-kernel 1-wire drivers but they didn't seem to want to
work with the USB 1-wire interface for some reason - it didn't seem to
see any of the temp sensors at all.
Digitemp worked fine however and I'm in the process of getting owfs up
and running to use it instead.
