The other alternative is to put in a lot of conduit ready for later use,
paying careful attention to make sure you can actually run cable down it
later - anything more than a sharp turn or two and you'd need to pull on
the cable so hard it could damage it (or make it perform very badly).

Straight runs are best, so you could bury conduit vertically from each
endpoint up to the loft (or the ceiling, if you can get access to it
later), or arrange for a cavity behind the skirting board with a short
vertical up to the back box (or use skirting board-shaped trunking).
