Yes, but not overly so.
If I "know" when the shower has stopped I can use the timer on
the fan
to control the overrun, rather than relying on the pipe to cool quick
enough to then switch it off. I think the difference is that I'd use
the permanent live connection to the fan if monitoring pipe
temperature, and the switched live connection if interfacing to the
shower control box.

I suppose I could use a humidity stat but a friend didn't have a lot
of success in his bathroom - either not enough or too much fan...
