Hi Darren,
We use a Canon HF-100 at home, records straight onto SD. We love it.
Small,=
light, excellent quality. Watch the pictures straight on the plasma at hom=
e using the HDMI output. Standard battery lasts over an hour and an 8GB SD

card gives a hour's recording and costs about =A330 (you need a fast one
so=
we use Sandisk Extreme III). We have two. When we're away we just unload s=
traight onto a laptop via card reader.
