CBus Dimmer Compatibility

  • Subject: CBus Dimmer Compatibility

I know this has been discussed before but . . . . . . senility seems
to
be kicking in and I can't remember the outcome . . . .

I have a Cbus 8 channel 1 A/ch dimmer (L5508D1A).

I want to dim some existing LV lamps but I don't know if the existing
"transformers" (they're "electronic" units rather than
proper
transformers), are compatible with "Leading Edge" dimmers.

If I connect them up, and they are not compatible, what's likely to happen?

If they hum and buzz or the transformers go pop, I'm not bothered but if
they blow up the CBus dimmer, I won't be happy!!!

Any info much appreciated.

Cheers

Neil
