[OT] Strange Network Drive Error

  • Subject: [OT] Strange Network Drive Error

Morning all,

I have been presented with a rather strange issue with one of my network
drives. It's a Freecom Network Drive 500 GB.

It all started yesterday when attempting to copy some CD's through iTunes.
iTunes returned a network error, so took a look at the drive and it was
saying it was full. This was slightly unexpected, nevertheless I just
deleted some old files and everything was dandy.

However, booting up this morning the drive is now reading 1.99TB free of
465
GB. WHAT??? I can still copy stuff onto it, so it's not full. And when I
connect it via USB everything seems fine. Now I'm very confused.

I guess it could be the network controller in the drive, but I'm not sure.
Any thoughts?

Oh, and I also can't access the root of the drive, only the folders within
it, but Google has pointed out that this is a W7 error with little that can
be done to fix it at the minute. Thanks Microsoft.

Regards

James
