Just drap & drop the mp3 into iTunes to put them in your itunes
library, and then sync the music to your iPhone.

You can do other things, if you're jailbroken, but this sounds exactly what
you want.  iTunes will even transcode WMA files for you, which is nice. 
Play with iTunes - you'll find using the App Sotre through it much easier
than on your phone.
