Help with HDPVR needed

Slightly off topic, but I have just got a Hauppage HDPVR for archiving some
1080i content off my Sky HD box for use on my PC later. All connected up
fine and seems to be recording correctly with 5.1 sound etc.
But, I get a horizontal line (tear) when I play things back - very
noticeable when playing full screen. The software is from ARCsoft and I
have contacted their support team - they are very friendly and are looking
into the problem, but it's taking weeks...
The HDPVR is connected to the Sky HD box via component input and optical
audio. My PC is an Intel i7 with 6GB of memory and a GeForce 295 dual video
card running 2 screens - one projector at 1920x1080 (DVI) and the other at
2084x1152 (HDMI). I have the latest software and drivers for everything and
the PC is using Vista with SP2.
Anyone here have any ideas for what I can try?
