Re: IR control of Kramer AV switch

Keith,

I use this with my Kramer switch:
http://www.kramerelectronics.com/indexes/item.asp?desc=3D88

It might work differently to the in-built IR? Check with Kramer.

Regards

Simon

Keith,

Are you using the Kramer IR to RS232 remote?

Subject: [ukha_d] IR control of Kramer AV switch

Hi everyone!

I have a Kramer VS-44HC AV switch which can be controlled locally using=20
IR, but simply doesn't respond when you put the IR signal across an=20
extender (like Xantech).

I've asked Kramer for advice, and they can't/won't help as they say=20
they have no experience of doing this, so i've got a very expensive=20
switch which isn't controllable remotely.

The only solution I can see at this point is to use an IR to RS232=20
programmable convertor as the switch does have RS232 input. But the=20
Xantech convertor is =A3250!!

Does anyone have any other suggestions or advice on how to sort this=20
out?

Thanks,

Keith
