Re: Re: Wattson
Hi Richard,
Crimp an RJ45 plug on the cable as follows:
RJ45 - USB Cable
Pin 4 - Black
Pin 8 - Yellow
That's all you need.
I whipped a very basic xAPP that just fires the data out every time it's
received on the comm port. This is logged by Floorplan, I've not gotten
round to charting it yet though!
Hope that helps,
Martyn

Martyn
I was inspired with these posts so I took up the recommendation to get
one of these current devices and it arrived a week or so back. Must
say I'm quite impressed so far but less so with our consumption.
Now I'd like to wire up to the PC and go xAPing. I bought one of the
cables you recommended from RS. However, I have a query that I hope
you can help with. The USB cable comes with a "a 0.1" pitch
header
socket" and not a RJ45 - I missed this subtlety when ordering! Any
idea how to rewire into a RJ45? (Colours I have are Green, yellow,
orange, red, brown, black)
(BTW - how have you been getting on with your data logging & graphing?)
Many thanks
Richard
