Damn ! That explains why my TiVo suddenly stopped suggesting things, I
thou=
ght the hard disk was becoming corrupt or something.

Regarding a replacement, I'm currently testing GBPvr which is free and
runs=
on Windows. Uing a dual tunner Pinnacle 3010i FTA PCI-E card and it seems =
pretty good so far. Might even stick in another card (only about =A317 at
P=
lay.com) and have a quad tuner Pvr :)

Subject: [ukha_d] The slow death of Tivo, just what can I use to replace
it=
?

Hi All, I know there are a few UK tivo users here.

It seems that Tivo UK are slowly dropping the service, I pay monthly
as when I bought my unit for =A3100 I was not sure the =A3200 life sub was
worth it as they may stop the service (a bad choice, a bit like my
endowments, ISAs and Pension at the moment). It seems that some
changes in the US mean they can't support the UK Gen 1 Tivo software
and the Tivo suggestions feature has stopped working! They did not
tell me this and still want the =A310 a month.

Suggestions was really good for us as it always kept lots of new stuff
for the kids to watch without filling it up using a season pass.

So what can I use to replace it? The Topfield looks good, not sure I
want to pay for the new HDMI version with the new FreeSat service
looking like it may be a better option in the long run.

How good is the Toppy? Now I have lost Tivo suggestions I guess that
Toppy will give me most of the functionality Tivo has.

I have only ever used Tivo as standard other than soft padding.

Cheers
Ian
