RE: Re: Base-line power consumption
About 450w here and I thought that was bad!
A few weeks ago I went round and unplugged things one by one (or in groups)
and assessed the power consumption, then turned off each fuse at the board
as well and came up with the following list.
It's amazing how it adds up. I was most shocked by the 50w that the
Microwave draws with just the clock running - that's over 1kWh per day!
Needless to say that is now unplugged when not in use. Most other stuff
now
Computer (to standby)
75
Colour Laser
38
B&W Laser
10
Monitor (standby)
0
Fridge (Standby)
7
PC (standby) etc on 4 way with phones, USB hubs, speakers, laptop supply)
etc
107
Router + wifi
12
Living Room TV, cable, PVR, hifi etc (all standby)
45
NAS
16
Coffee Machine
0
Bathroom circuits
10
Boiler/Washing Machine
22
Bose Woofer
1
Bose Conservatory
1
Amp (Kitchen)
0
Kitchen Appliancess (ex MW)
2
Microwave
51
Oven
2
Toaster
1
Slim Kitchen
0
Upstairs Ring
13
Downstairs light cct
2
Kitchen Ring
0
Bell+Alarm+Smoke
16
Upstairs Lights
3
Conservatory TV+router
31
When the heating's on and lights are on it builds up to about 1kW
Cheers
Pete

Gulp 1.2kw.
Been looking at how to reduce without loosing functionality.
Fridge freezer
Comfort alarm
Ha server inc house audio
Two gigabit switches
Wireless access point
Cable router
Various sensors (one wire,caller id)
12 channel power amp for audio (ahem)
Sky hd
Dect phones
And other bits on standby which really don't register.
But we have knocked off about 400w already. Not particularly happy about
this though:-(
