RE: Homeseer developments

Hi Paul,

I have it installed but it can't connect to the Homeseer server. I have the
HSTouch plugin installed but on startup it shows an error in the log file.

HSTouch Server Error Failed registration of GENERIC EVENT callback: Public
member 'RegisterGenericEventCB' on type 'hsapplication' not found.

There doesn't appear to be a config page even though there is a button.

Which port is it talking on as I have a number of applications running on
the server using various ports?

Dave.

Hi Dave.

Yes you can develop pretty much anywhere you want, - the designer is a
separate standalone application that isn't licensed so you are perfectly
at liberty to install it as many times and on as many PCs as you like..

However... (There's always one of those isn't there!)...

It does have to be able to connect to a Homeseer server in order to be
able to do anything useful. - It will start-up disconnected, but it will
warn you that nearly all the stuff it can do won't be available without
a server connection. - The reason being that the designer loads up all
your configured Homeseer devices and events when it starts up so that
they appear in your palette in the IDE, so that you can then associate
them with touchscreen elements & so on.

Without the server connection, you could do the graphic design parts,
but you wouldn't be able to configure it to actually do anything like
controlling devices, running events & scripts in HS etc.

Oh, and it can connect over the internet so you can develop from work if
you like... :-) - it currently uses a fixed port number, although there
have been requests to change it to be user configurable.

Paul G.
