[OT] Distance selling regs - opening an item for inspection?
- Subject: [OT] Distance selling regs - opening an item for
inspection?

I recently ordered a battery incorrectly (wrong part) for a camera.
When I got it, it was packaged in a brown cardboard package which I thought
was an outer package i.e. a retail package would be contained inside.
However, it was just the battery, no other packaging.
I thought I read somewhere that the DSR allowed you to open packaging to
inspect the goods ( I can't find that now in the text). The retailer
(Komplett) are saying they will refuse the return if the packaging has been
opened even though the product has not been used.
Anyone know if this is OK or not?
Cheers,
Paul.
