Hi all,
Someone on here can hopefully help me, starting to think about a home
intranet page with all useful stuff on there and one think I like to
know is tides (i kitesurf as often as possible).
Easiest source of information for this purpose I think is the bbc,
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/tides/tides.shtml?date=20080527&loc=0027
Nice easy link here, 0027 is the location, Exmouth and the date in
there obviously, this displays a page with loads of gumph i don't want
a chart and a small table which I do want.
The graph can be obtained by going to
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/data/20080527/0027_20080527.gif
I've just viewed source to get this info.
Now the graph is ok but what I'd really like is the table,
<!-- tide chart stats open --> marks it in the source, won't paste
it
here cos it's a bit big, appears on the page as
Time Type Height (metres)
0416 Low 1.0
1045 High 2.7
1634 Low 1.1
2256 High 3.0
So...is there any pretty simple way to get scrape this (lets assume
for the moment that its both allowed and ethical to do so) and have it
appear in a section on my own page? obviously the graph is easy to do
but it's not the easiest to read to get even precise ish times.
As ever in hope!
Thanks
Noel
