Mark,

=20

I see from the other thread, and of course previous threads, that you are
a=
fan of XBMC.

=20

I have had a modded Xbox for years now, a chipped version that I did
mysel=
f back in the day when 'Mars' did the token thingy and I think it ended up
=
being =A340 from Argos and you got a couple of boxes of sweets to boot.
Mad=
e me very popular with the nephews.

=20

Only this week I have finally managed to soft mod a second box, boy it's
ea=
sy! At least it is easy when you know how. If, like me, you don't play
game=
s on the machine and aren't familiar with 'action replay' you can struggle
=
a bit. In fact my friend and I, two men of progressing years with no
intere=
st in the Xbox as a games machine took hours to do the first one because
we=
didn't know how to move files around. We managed to mod (including upgradi=
ng an Xbox using the Live service) the subsequent boxes (4 in total) in
lit=
erally 20 minutes each.

I understand you run a number of modded XBoxes and wondered why you liked
t=
he idea of a MAC version, also interested to see if you, or anyone else on
=
the list has tried XBMC for windows. I currently use VLC for my Cinema but
=
wanted a more Wife Friendly interface. XLobby was on the cards but of
cours=
e that has changed direction recently. As SWMBO is happy using XBMC and it
=
also works well with the TiVo XBMC for Windows may be a better choice. An
X=
box in the Cinema may also be an option but I need VGA / RGB to drive the
C=
RT (Barco 808). I haven't tried the Xbox with 720p yet either and would
wan=
t a source with a high resolution output, something that is easy to adjust
=
with a PC...

=20

Hope this is not seen as OT

Nigel
