You possibly could but if it's like the drives used for the Xbox 360 HD-DVD
drive then it will be a non-standard mounting so won't fit nicely into a
5.25" bay, it'll have no front bezel (so look ugly as sin if you do
get it
in a 5.25" bay) and it'll have a non-standard interface on the back of
the
drive too...

Much easier just to buy the component that does the job rather than trying
to fudge something ... plus it'll come with any appropriate drivers and
probably HD and Blu-Ray (as appropriate) playback software too.
