Re: Re: C-Bus Dimmer Loading ???

Hi Tim,

I was fortunate in that I got hold of some of the C-Bus Pro dimmer
series from eBay - at good prices - The ones I use offer 4 channels @ 5A
per channel . They are wall fixing which suited where I needed to mount
them too. So I can't vouch for any use on the 4CH 2A DIN rail versions
. I have generally used only one light per channel and they are 300W or
500W bulbs. However I run them on a ramp on to 75% over 4 secs and a
ramp off of 30 secs so the inrush current may be reduced compared to a
sudden full on, or maybe increased/ have a longer duration... not sure.
Been running a couple of years though now with no problems..

I'm not sure I would risk trying to use lower rated channels ie the 2A
4CH DIN modules even though they appear within spec for 300W bulbs. I
suspect the 'Pro' series dimmers may be designed differently with better
protection - physically they are very different - I had originally
intended to use relays until I got these.
