BT rolling out external Master points

Dont think anyone has mentioned it - thought it might be of
interest...

New developments are no longer to be fitted with an internal master point
(NTE), instead a tamper proof external box will be fitted by BT and from
what i can gather they will connect the internal extension wiring at the
time of its install.

The external box will be fitted with a seal, though when opened a small
yellow plug can be removed which isolates the internal points from the
external incomer. No actual phone plug will be fitted in the external box.

Just trying to work out if this is good or bad - was always good being able
to tell a customer to plug their phone into a master point to prove the
incoming service was working or not....

Dean.
