Hi All,

Has anyone ever successfully recovered an iPaq with a stuffed ROM
image ?

Mine is a 3630 which after finally replacing the batteries was
resurrected into a functional object once more.

Successfully got it connected to my Vista laptop with a USB cradle
and then foolishly decided to upgrade it from 2000 to 2002 :(

All was going well as per the instructions until Vista threw up a
message about "Data Execution Prevention" and shut down the
upgrade
program laving me with a stuffed iPaq.

I have seen the information aboutholding the select button whilst
pressing reset to get the "Parrot Screen" and I get a text box
saying "Remote USB Update" but I still cant get the PC to talk to
the
iPaq, I just get a communications error :(

Have also tried to recover it by using an XP Pro machine but no luck
there either.

I DONT have a CF sleeve, just a PCMCIA one although I do have both
serial and USB cradles.

Any advice gratefully received.

Keith
