All C-Bus units communicate on the C-Bus network once every few seconds so
there must be a way to tell but whether or not the information is
available to the likes of us is unknown.

I did ask the question of encryption in a C-Bus workshop a while ago to
the son of C-Bus, Jason Gerard. He didn't give me a straight answer so I
assumed not at the time. Phil would be far better qualified than I to
comment on that.
