RE: Updated pics of my loft conversion



Type D is common for larger motors & compressors, it is what I
have on my
heat pump for example. My Helvar lighting panels use type C breakers to
protect the load side of the dimmer but then again their dimming technology
does not use triacs. Other kit I use which is triac based specifies type B
breakers although this equipment is used for heating controls and not
subject to the regular load failures that occur with lighting and filament
lamps. I've been recommended to always fit internally fused lamps as a
further level of protection on lighting control installs as a
belt-and-braces approach.

Aren't the type C also used for inductive loads like motors etc - so they
don't blow quite so quickly as the type B?
