Re: Cable Fishing kit?! Reccomendations....cheap of course!
Noel
What, exactly, are you trying to do!?
In the "old days", we used to drop cables down cavities. We would
knock
a hole at the top and at the bottom, drop a length of chain (jack chain
from the electrical wholesalers) down and fish it out at the bottom! -
Worked a treat! Now, of course, building regs prohibits the use of
cavities for running cables . . . . . . . . .
When the "fishing rods" first hit the market, they were very
reasonably
price. Now, I've seen sets at over £100!!!!!!!
So, if you just need to do a quick job, fishing a cable, say, down the
back of a built in wardrobe, you could do worse than buy a length of
mini trunking and use the lid. Cheaper still would be some bamboo from
the garden center, although I've always found bamboo to snag.
If you do go the cavity route, use a bit of string tied to a weight .
.. . . Just don't tell building control I told you so ;-)
HTH

Neil
