Hmm not really.....
LVM (Logical Volume Manager) is as its name suggests a volume manager that
allows you to create...for want of better words; virtual disks or
partitions called Logical Volumes, file systems are made on top of the
Logical Volumes.
ZFS blurs the boundaries between file system and volume manager...it is
really pretty damn good!! http://opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/
