I am also going to be re-doing my storage shortly, currently I have
*8* 120
gig drives and 6 200s on a windows 2003 server machine in 2 raid 5 arrays.

A mate has had a play with raid-z on solaris a while back, its cool thing
is
that lets you can use differing drive sizes on it.

At the time you couldn't just add another drive to the array, but
apparently
that was coming sometime soon. Does anyone know what the status of it is? I
have done some googling but cant find any definite yes or no type thing. I
could build a new machine with this and a 2 1TB drives, and then add more
as
needed as I can afford it if that was the case, which is pretty much ideal
for me since my media tends to arrive in big batches from friends etc.
