Hi paul,
Trailing edge dimmers are used for electronic transformers,
Leading edge dimmers are used for iron core transformers,
Both can dim incandescent lamps.

Subject: [ukha_d] CBUS Wireless question
I'm looking at my future CBUS expansion plans, & I'm going to need some
wireless kit for a couple of awkward places.
Looking at the switches, I see there both leading edge & trailing edge
dimmers available... - what's the difference, and how do I know which
type I should get? - These will be controlling bog standard incandescent
and mains halogen light fittings, no low voltage 12V stuff at all...
TIA
Paul G.
