Re: New Member Intro

Hi Tim,

Welcome to the list! :-)

You'll find we're a friendly bunch; lots of people with experience in
various aspects of HA.

I'm primarily a Systems/Software guy, with a background in systems
administration and network engineering.

I have a lot of experience with X10 - in fact, I'm sure pretty much
everyone
on here has / had some X10 kit at some point - it's a comfortable entry
level solution - and for some, it does everything they need.

I'm also familiar with RFXCom - nice units - and they tie in well with the
Oregon Scientific kit too if memory serves.

I'm (still) ignorant of all things MAC - (hey, I know it's a shame, but
I'll
be up front about it!) - my software is Win32 / the occasional *nix shell
script. I keep meaning to find time to join the Mac Brigade, but time and
money are always in the way. will get the one day! :)

I do a lot of work for the people behind www.byebyestandby.com and my
former
part-time project, now full time business venture is Harmony Home
Automation

Again, Welcome to the list - and a Merry Christmas to you too.

Kind regards,

R.
