Digital Picture Frame hack

During their travels round t'internet, has anyone seen any successful
hacks of the Digital Picture Frames you can get everywhere for between
£20 and £100?
Linux installation, using them as cheap screens for other things?

I don't mean converting a laptop into a picture frame, just the simple
frames that show a slideshow of your pics when you shove a memory card
in the back.

I was wondering the other day how hard it would be to interface one or
more of them to a PC using LVDS or something like it, but can't seem to
find any sites where anyone has had a play. I'm sure we can all thing
of suitable HA uses...

All links appreciated.

Simon
