Re: Re: AlertMe v2.0 to Bring Energy Monitoring plus CCTV
[Disclosure - I'm involved with a company that does this]
ByeByeStandby have a PRO range - targeted at corporates. The hardware is
based on Zigbee, and includes real-time power monitoring, along with device
control.
Unfortunately, it's not available through retail channels at the moment -
only to companies who have X+ seats, will take a service contract etc etc
(I'll be completely honest, I'm more than a little vague on exactly how one
"qualifies" to be able to buy this kit!!).
It can run against a hosted webservice, or a local EntergyManager device.
This is the kit that I recently brought home to test - it's not often I'm
impressed with such things (working in HA, I tend to take a lot of things
for granted that would impress other techies) - but it really was "wow
-
that's cool. .....The kettle's using HOW MUCH??? TURN IT OFF!!!...." I
upgraded MCE-PC - the cost of the hardware will be covered by reduced
electricity bill in <2 years.
If anyone's interested (this wasn't intended as a plug!) - please mail me
offlist, and I'll get more info for you / put you in touch with The Man Who
Knows :)
Apologies for the thread-jack!
