The Vera Z-Wave driver is closed source (afaik).

If you want an open source Z-Wave driver, look into the LinuxMCE
Z-Wave driver. It is constantly evolving, works with A LOT of devices
and is open source (it does support Vera's dongle as well).

Maybe you like to invest some time to see, if an xAP integration into
LinuxMCE is something of interest for you too.
