Agreed, all the stand alone cases that take a HDD and play media (like
on
deal extreme etc) have the most crap user interface, most crap remotes and
fail on heaps of files.
XBMC just works, and you should be able to set it up to FTP in remotely and
upload stuff to it.

XBMC on an old Xbox1, wiith a 120GB harddrive...
Doesn't get much cheaper or user friendlier... :)
Built in wired networking, just bring your laptop over with new progs, FTP
in and copy the new stuff over..
