Hi Duncan, you identified yourself as newly looking at HA, so let me
fill you in on a bit of the history of the HA scene in the UK.

The two longest existing suppliers (and the owners of both companies
read this list and participate) www.letsautomate.com and www.laser.com
have been supporting home automation during the last decade (and beyond).

Li and Mike have been *ridiculously* helpful to a great many of the
users here, often going above and beyond what you could expect to help
resolve issues. when I had some issues with a couple of the low costs
S10 modules being twitchy and failing, Mike swapped *all* of the ones
I had ordered, rather than waiting for them to fail. He shipped out a
replacement to me before I had sent back the faulty units.

Similarly Li has passed on tech documents, helped with kit, and
basically did everything you could ever want from a supplier.

The short version is - when you see a price difference that, let's
face it, wouldn't buy you a big mac meal, remember that what the extra
money buys is absolutley stellar customer care, and helps keep people
in business who have supported HA from the start.

buyitlowest says 'why pay more when you can pay less' - because paying
the absolute bottom price for everything (and stripping the value from
the business) hurts you, hurts the HA industry and hurts the HA
community.

just my 2p.
