RE: How can I troubleshoot Internet Access ?

Have you checked your adsl attenuation/noise margin figures. Do they
differ between it working and not working?

Subject: [ukha_d] How can I troubleshoot Internet Access ?

Hi,

I've been with my ISP for a good few years and everything has been
working fine until last week.

I've found that after bouncing my Netgear DG834PN wireless router that I
have Web connectivity for about an hour, afterwhich I can no longer
access the Internet.

I've checked my internal LAN connectivity, with my NAS, other PC's,
squeezebox, Media Players etc.. and when accessing my Home's content,
this is all fine.

I've tried changing the Broadband RJ11 cable connecting to my router as
well as the ADSL splitter connecting to my phone line but these have had
no effect. It's hard to tell because initially after re- booting, I do
get connectivity, but this seems to grind to a halt after about an hour.

I'm just wondering if there are any known tools I could use to help
troubleshoot the problem. eg. Faulty Router vs. Line Noise vs.
Anything else.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
