RE: [OT] Recommendation needed for internal DVD Drive
I assume you're talking about an internal 5.25" full height
optical drive
rather than a slimline laptop one so I'll just say that I've had *NO*
problems at all with Philips, Pioneer, Plextor and LG drives. For slimline
laptop style drives I do like the Panasonic slot loaders that LinITX sell

have two of those now).
I've had issues with Sony drives before (both desktop and laptop) but they
were both "cutting edge" drives at the time ... the desktop drive
was the
first DVD writer they ever made and the laptop drive was their first Dual
Layer laptop writer so maybe that was just a consequence of buying bleeding
edge technology?
