PC Host and Email Server
Hi guys,
I'm looking for some thoughts on a couple of things.
I'm currently running a PC 24/7 which is acting as a web server for my
website. I've currently loaded on PHP, Apache, MySQL and phpmyadmin which
all work fine.
However, I want to extend its use by hosting my own email server. At the
moment I've setup this email in 123 Reg using its own A and MX records and
forwarding all email to my Gmail account.
To host my email server I'm looking for some free Windows based software
that covers POP, SMTP and IMAP. Does anyone know anything? I've tried
hMailServer but I'm having problems with this so need to try something
else.
On another note, given that the PC is running Windows XP I have the odd
occasion where it decides to restart itself. I have a login screen (needed
for XBMC as I stream files from the PC to there) which obviously stops the
PC from fully rebooting itself. Is there anyway to ensure that when the PC
reboots it automatically logs into Windows without asking for the password?
Thanks,
Mark
