RE: [OT] data recovery



I had a drive go bad, that Windows could no longer recognise so I
couldn't use any recovery tools to extract the data.  I used Spinrite from
grc.com (I'm not a fan of Steve Gibson though).  Spinrite's boot floppy saw
the drive attached and started hunting for bad sectors.  After about
12hours, I tried the drive again, and Windows saw it fine, and all the
data.
Might be worth a try if you can get an 'extended trail version'.
