RE: Clipsal CBUS for Lighting Contol

Interesting, I'm away from home at the moment but fo have the c-bus
toolkit on this machine.

Just had a look and the debounce can be increased on these (external)
sensors from 96 ms to 1008 ms.

I'll have to have a play with it this weekend.

Regards
Gary

Gary,

The CBUS PIR's do have sensitivity adjustment, was reading this the
other day in the C-BUS Basic Training Manual - Volume 2.

2.2.1 Debounce
-----------------------
The buttons used in wall switches are mechanical and may exhibit contact
bounce during switching.
To achieve reliable switching operation, a preset time period must occur
before the unit responds to
a button being pressed. This is the debounce time.

PIR sensors also have an adjustable debounce time, which can be used to
reduce their sensitivity
by increasing the debounce time.

The default value is 48 milliseconds for wall switches and 96
milliseconds for PIR sensors.

Looks like it can't be increased only reduced, I can't comment on how
effective it is though.

I now have 9 items on my C-BUS network with another 7 to install and I
think its great!!!

Very similar setup for me as Paul, Comfort, HV, CBus, Kevin's gateway -
it all works brilliantly.

I have the Saturn switches, SWMBO did not like the DLT's. The only CBus
kit I've been disappointed with is the external pir's, they look rubbish
and don't have any sensitivity adjustment from what I can see.

Just to give you a flavour of the flexibility I've also got Frank's FirM
system and have set the rotary wheel on my pronto to send ir codes to
brighten or dim the lighting. FirM/HV works out which room the command
came from and then through the gateway controls the lighting.

Did I say it was brilliant:-)

Regards
Gary

Yes - I have it and would highly recommend it.

I control all the advanced intelligence stuff in HomeVision and use
Kevin's HV/CBus/xAP gateway to directly link into CBus - works VERY well
indeed :)

I've just ordered a couple of wireless CBus plug in dimmers for a couple
of table lamps too. You can also get a wireless (RF) remote control
although I've not got or used it - I think Kevin might have one though?

I use HV again for IR remote light operation - a couple of Harmony
remotes trigger a change/macro etc in HV and then controls the relevant
lights on the CBus network.

I have 14 (IIRC) DLT switches - and whilst not cheap, are very flexible
- I have all kinds of other devices controlled by them apart from lights
- electric lock, a guest mode trigger (to disable various PIR's in guest
bedrooms, set heating modes etc), control of Velux electric windows etc
etc. Linked with another HA controller, it's a very flexible system.

I know other people here use the CBus PAC and touchscreen - these are
other options but I've not used them. To me, the flexibility of linking
my alarm, HV, CBus etc together is very powerful.

Paul.
