Apple are the anti-google.
Google's famous motto, "don't be evil" doesn't apply to Apple,
does
it.
"IPhone owners who have unlocked their handsets so they could use
carriers other than AT&T may end up with a phone that doesn't work
after the company's next software update, Apple Inc. warned Monday"
It seems just like when they released a firmware update for the
Powerbooks and iMacs which turned any mac using third party RAM into
a doorstop - out of pure greed, of course - and the fanboys *still*
leapt to their defence...
What will happen when the early adopters who dared to try to use
their iphone on another network, or installed a third party app onto
it have their shiny new phone turned into an expensive paperweight by
Apple's Department of Evil?
My guess is that they will, unfortunately, turn around and
say "please steve, can we have some more? We deserve to be
punished!".
Bloody apple. Evil, I tell you, EVIL.
:P
Ian.
